Projects - Expressive Arts Centre Beverley Grammar School

This high quality stand alone facility at Beverley Grammar School comprises a drama studio, music rooms and classrooms.

The Building Designer and Engineer worked together on the design of all areas to achieve architectural and structural features that enhance the use of the building.

The drama studio, which has a floor area of 400m2, incorporates a curved roof supported on laminated timber beams with exposed steel ties and bracing.

The music rooms also incorporate exposed laminate timber beams to achieve a slender roof construction with attractive fenestration to give good natural lighting.

The building has a complex geometry with all music rooms being irregular in shape to improve acoustic properties
