Career History

Paul is a Founder Director and current Chairman of UKBS Plc providing building surveying advice to a national portfolio of Clients. Since qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1970, Paul has worked in private practice and developed his experience in all aspects of Building Surveying. He joined The Livemore Partnership, an expanding South East of England practice in 1983 as a Partner. Paul has a great deal of experience in all types of property, including residential and commercial, but also has a particular expertise in the building surveying field, where he is often call upon to act as an Expert Witness. He has also been responsible for training a large number of student members of the RICS through to gaining their formal academic qualifications, both in building surveying and valuations.

Career History

Andy is a Founder Director and current Company Secretary of UKBS PLC providing building surveying advice to a national portfolio of Clients.

Since qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1988, Andy has developed his experience in all aspects of Project Management and Building Surveying. He was appointed as an Associate of The Livemore Partnership, an expanding South East of England practice in 1998 and is now the Managing Partner with responsibility for 60 staff and a turnover in excess of £3m pa.

He further qualified as a Planning Coordinators in March 1995 to service the requirements of the then newly introduced CDM Regulations 1994.

Career History

Ian is a Regional Director UKBS, providing building surveying advice to a national portfolio of Clients. He is a Director of Mason Clark Associates, a multi disciplinary practice of Civil and Structural Engineers, Project Managers, Surveyors and Planning Coordinators, based in Yorkshire with a staff of 20.

Over 17 years experience in the construction industry, in interior refurbishment, Local Government and multi-disciplinary construction consultant companies.

Initially experience in the management and financial control of retail and commercial property refurbishment, moving on to gain wider general construction surveying and management experience, from structural surveys, contract administration, through to expert witness reports for a Local Authority and technical project management. More recent experience has covered the Project Management of a new £3m Office and Depot Development for a Housing Association, and a substantial number of refurbishment works and new build contracts across varied client base. In addition, carrying out the role of Planning Coordinator both incorporated into schemes run by the practice and as a separate role for larger new build projects up £3.5 million in value.

Career History

Michael graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic with a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying in 1984.
He worked in private practice for a large multi-disciplinary consultancy in the North West and qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1986.
In 1988 he joined the Northern Office of a multi-disciplinary Property Consultancy with responsibility for developing Building Surveying services. Reflecting his success in the role he was appointed a Director in 1992 and thereafter became responsible for provision of services nationally.
In 1996 he was a founder partner of JYM Partnership, a multi disciplinary practice with responsibility for Building Surveying Services.
In 2004 Michael became a founding Director of UKBS providing Building Surveying and Project Management services to a national portfolio of clients.
Michael has 20 years experience dealing with all aspects of property advice but most particularly for public sector clients.
His key qualifications are:

  • Experienced in the Project Management of Capital and Maintenance Programmes for the Education Sector.
  • Experienced in the Project Management of Refurbishment and Fit Out Contracts.
  • Chartered Building Surveyor with wide and varied experience in all aspects of Maintenance Management especially in respect to the refurbishment, repair and alteration of both Public and Private sector properties.

Experience

Since 1988 Michael has been a Project and Account Manager for services provided to Royal Mail Plc North West under various Building Surveying Term Framework Commission.
Michael has 21 years post qualification experience in the provision of Project Management and Building Surveying services to a wide range of Public and Private Sector clients including Royal Mail, Local Authorities, H M Land Registry, Matalan and Further Education clients.

Career History

While working in Belfast, Stephen qualified as a chartered building surveyor in 1982 becoming an associate member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. By 1985 Stephen was an Associate within a local partnership and became a Fellow in The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1992. Stephen is currently the senior partner in The FCM Partnership and Regional Director for UKBS.
Stephen has undertaken courses at the University of Ulster in access auditing, planning supervision, and asbestos surveying and sampling.
Stephen Nelson has fulfilled the role of Project Manager / Designer/ Contract Administrator over a period of 25 years covering a wide variety of projects and differing clients in local authority, public and private housing, commercial, retail, industrial and leisure sectors of the industry.

Experience

  • Project Manager – Construction of new production facilities to increase client’s supply of milk and butter, creation of chilled factories and warehousing for United Dairy Farmers at Culleybackey, Ballymena.
  • Project Manager – Redevelopment of public housing stock involving schemes to revitalise inner city areas including and out of town housing estates. Such schemes include investigating, identifying and solving problems concerning demand and supply of public housing for The Northern Ireland Housing .
  • Project Manager – Various schemes of refurbishment, redevelopment, reconstruction and fit-out of Royal Mail delivery depots, branch offices and sorting warehouses throughout the region of Northern Ireland. Cont’d

Paul’s specialisation is the preparation and implementation of property strategies, and project management of capital programmes for Local Authorities, Local Education Authorities, Further Education and Higher Education organisations.

Paul has worked for the following organisations.

  • Head of Client Services at Dudley MBC where he had responsibility for estate strategy, capital projects and day-to-day operations including Health and Safety and provision of consultancy services to organisations including, Dudley College, Stourbridge College, Halesowen College, West Midlands Police Authority, and over 150 schools including special schools.
  • Principal Estate Manager at Plymouth University where he was responsible for strategic and operational policy, project management, estate strategy and utilisation reviews, support operations including maintenance and change management, IT and telecomm networks, compliance with environmental and Health & Safety legislation. Strategic Planning and Development Manager.
  • Director of Strategy and Capital Development for Barnet and Edgware Health Authority where he was responsible for annual capital expenditure in excess of £20m
  • Paul started his career in Property Management at the City of Birmingham responsible for the design of building services, specification of building services, contract management and administration and environmental performance monitoring of public buildings.

Neil joined Birmingham City Council as a trainee Building Surveyor in 1984 and progress through to Senior Officer Building Surveyor.
The department in which he worked was concerned with the Property Maintenance Management of the whole of Birmingham City Councils non-housing property portfolio. Neil’s work involved the complete range of building surveying services to the whole range of the property portfolio. Including education, social services, crematoria, mortuaries, magistrate courts, leisure centre, offices, shops, and factory buildings.

MacConvilles, with it's head office on the South Coast was established in 1938 and Malcolm has responsibility for 25 staff.

He further qualified as a Planning Coordinator in January 2000 to promote and continue to service the requirements of the CDM Regulations 1994.
